J.W. agrees on Bible truth - then denies it!
by The Searcher inhad a conversation with long-serving witness today.
me - during christ's 1000 years reign, would anyone ever be allowed to beat you up and rob you?.

Its all planned out. Jehovah is on top of it. Why worry? No permanent damage will be done, just like now. Maybe there will be multiple re-resurrections throughout the 1000 years? I want to die a hundred ways and come back for a nice panda petting session. Wait, NOT that kind of petting! -

"Its serious business" and that's what he knows, business. It took Jehovah (?) to motivate the CO's and elders to search out the inactive because they sure as hell wouldn't be any more motivated than this douche to do so without divine intervention. He has a voice and demeanor like a guy in a recliner in a wife-beater yelling, "Hey, get your man another beer!" -

having a dark night of the soul
by Miss Behaving ini'm writing this here because i need someone to talk to, and you're the only folks i know who will understand.
most of the time i think i'm a pretty happy and together person, but lately, i'll see something that reminds me of my family and i'll spontaneously start crying.
i miss them so much and my heart keeps breaking, and even though i have kind people i work and volunteer with, i feel so incredibly lonely sometimes.

I hear you. Its not easy to accept that what we feel now about not having anyone is really the same as our reality before. We "had" someone because we were acceptable to them in their world view. Now we have a new world view, pardon the pun, and we must take comfort in building new relationships. Its not easy when you're older because we have few common associations built up yet. Take heart, you will meet good people that care in time. For now, know you are not alone, we hear you. Of course we are not there physically but you will have someone in the near future who will be able to be there for you in person. Do what you have to, just know you are not the first to experience this and that some of us still have our moments. I'm pulling for you.

If you could live on either, the ones we all know well or those lesser known, which would you choose? -

Has anyone noticed how his mouth slopes from his left downward to his right on an angle? Its annoying. He does speak out of the side of his mouth. -

If being an elder makes a man feel important, imagine how it feels to believe you are going to heaven, will be a king for eternity and are being "used" to do God's will as his spokesman. I think they believe it completely. Its a place you get in stages and all along the way is reinforced by "divine guidance", obviously. Now that doesn't mean they believe that every pronouncement is from god, they have to see through the BS but "wait on Jehovah" like the rest of us slobs were required to do. -

The Killing: is an awesome series. Gritty and hypnotic in its slow percolation. I love both actors in the leads. The female character irritates the piss out of me, but that's why I think the actress is really good.
The Flash!: OH yeah.
Gotham: is inspired. So good.
Wong Mans: James Corden is so funny
Backstrom: Ok its a guilty pleasure, love it.
Turn, Washington's Spies: Need to watch season 2, its well underway.
I watch all shows online. There are sites ya know? Just started Jeremiah, not sure how I feel about it yet. Only on episode 3 of season 1. So far, so good.

How big of a problem is apostasy.
by joe134cd ini often wonder if apostasy could be defined as the "silent problem", as the majority who leave for this reason choose to fade saying nothing.
in all the decades i was a witness i could probably count on 2 hands those who were disfellowshipped for apostasy.i must admit it wasn't until i came on the internet that i fully realise the depth and extent of the problem.
i think of that young girl high school speech that went viral, and you can't tell me all those 300000+ views were all none jws.

So long as there is one person who is honest with themselves and leaves the Org and branded an apostate, there are many in the minds of the indoctrinated JW. -

WHY DO ONLY A FEW START TO QUESTION DOCTRINE CHANGES AND NOT EVERYONE?
by disillusioned 2 inthere are many on here who state specific changes in wt publications have caused them to start questioning (understandably you would think), and yet the majority don't.
why is it only a few individuals that do this?
curious as to what others think about this.

The same people who accept the authority of the GB will question the government, the medical establishment and more. They are willing to recognize the foibles of those institutional authorities as conspiracy or malice, but the GB can lead them to an early death via blood madness and they cry more! They think they have found a reliable authority to submit their will to and so they continue no matter what. Its down to ego and change avoidance. Better to be a janitor who holds the knowledge of "the Truth" than one who simply is sweeping till he dies like everyone else. -

Yes, even though it can be lonely at times, but better feeling lonely now and then rather than thinking I am not lonely with two faced religious zealots who will knife you in a second if you don't agree it didn't rain before the flood or some other truth that will turn on a dime. Idiots.
